Passenger Pigeon-Martha

This is the famous passenger pigeon. I painted from   a very bad mount at the  San Bernardino Museum.WHY? Because there used to be billions of these birds in the United States. But unfortunately, they became extinct in about 50 years. The last one died  in a zoo in 1914 and was named Martha. So I honored her by this paainting. She became extinct because man hunted her into extinction
